Editorial Standards
The Wiley Post is an independent, locally owned news organization based in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Our work is guided by accuracy, fairness, transparency and accountability.
We distinguish news reporting from opinion. News stories are based on reporting, documents, interviews, public records and direct observation. Opinion pieces reflect the views of the writer and are labeled as opinion.
Opinion content is labeled so readers can clearly identify it. Labels may include Opinion, Editorial, Column or Guest Opinion. Opinion content does not control or influence news coverage.
When we make an error, we correct it as clearly and quickly as possible. Corrections may appear within the story, at the top or bottom of the article, or in an editor’s note, depending on the nature of the change.
The same commitment to accuracy applies to opinion content. If an opinion piece contains a factual error, The Wiley Post will review and correct it when appropriate.
The Wiley Post is owned by The Wiley Post, LLC. Editorial decisions are made independently and are not controlled by advertisers, donors, public officials or outside organizations.
